Director Bio

        V. Khadijah Stroud-McCottrie brings over two decades of experience in the field of Mental Health and Addictions Counseling. She began in 1984 in New York City,  working with individuals with mental illness and substance abuse issues in both hospitals and private institutions. 

        In August 1999 Khadijah moved to South Carolina . There she continued to provide counseling services to those struggling with substance abuse problems, first at Charter Behavioral Health Systems and later  at The Charleston Center. In July of 2003 she moved to Atlanta, GA. where she has continued to provide services to individuals, as well as providing education about addiction and mental illness to both the public and private sector.

        Khadijah is passionate about the field of  addiction and finds it imperative to provide quality services to her community. Towards this end,she provides Clinical Supervision to individuals and treatment facilities, individual and group counseling to those struggling to achieve sobriety and assessments for DHR, DOT, DFACS, Dept. of Parole and Probation and various Law Enforcement agencies.

        She is an Education Provider for the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association, teaching the skill groups associated with addictions counseling to those seeking certification in this challenging and rapidly growing field. She also provides classes to those individuals who are already certified and need a required amount of continuing education hours to maintain their certification. 

        Khadijah has served a vast population in the field of addiction and sits on the Board of Directors at ConRoc, Inc. She is also an advocate and supporter of the Total Rehabilitation of the Urban Environment ( TRUE, Inc.)
Khadijah believes that each individual she serves can obtain some insight which may improve the quality of their lives, and therefore the lives of their families and community.
